Our Holiday Gift Drive benefiting CASA - Voices for Children is in full swing. Please bring an unwrapped gift to a drop off location near you. CASA aims to provide a child with 3 needs (jackets, shoes, educational items) and 3 wants (toys, art supplies, sport equipment). 

Here is the list of children in each age group:

Age 0-3 - 50 kids

Age 4-8 - 38 kids 

Age 9-13 - 29 kids 

Age 14-18 - 3 kids

On Tuesday, December 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Oregon Care Partners is hosting a free, instructor-led class in Corvallis titled “Effective Communications Strategies” that’s designed to help anyone who cares for an aging Oregonian learn more about communication techniques and how to provide effective care for those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. This 2-hour class is free of charge, thanks to funding from the State of Oregon and partnerships with trusted organizations including the Alzheimer’s Association and Oregon Health Care Association.
 
WHAT: The class is designed to help anyone who cares for an aging Oregonian understand stages of memory loss and improve verbal and nonverbal communication with those affected. A professional instructor will share real-world experience in an interactive classroom environment. This class is free, thanks to funding by the State of Oregon.
 
WHO: This class is designed for anyone who cares for an aging Oregonian. Individuals that provide care for an aging family member or loved one, as well as those who work in professional caregiver settings, public safety or social work, are invited to attend this free class. When the Corvallis schools are closed, send your child (ages 5-10) on a fun and educational adventure from 9am-3pm! We’ll be highlighting 25 of the most climate change susceptible species including animals like polar bears, pika, penguins, whales, coral, and many others. We’ll run our own experiments to understand the changes and effects of climate, while discovering what we can do to help the planet too.  Before and after care is available. Advanced registration is required and space is limited!

This day-long event, hosted by Center for Nonprofit Stewardship, is for nonprofit staff, boards, and volunteers. The Guiding More Good Conference hosts a number of expert speakers to provide informative talks and interactive workshops alongside opportunities for networking.

The 2019 conference will include fifteen sessions that cover a wide scope of topics such as fund development, financial accountability, organizational and board development, and diversity, equity and inclusion. Anne Kubisch, President of The Ford Family Foundation, will be our keynote speaker this year.

Yes, you heard us right…Run Your TuTu Off and WE mean that literally. This awesome event is for everybody to join the fun, support Beds for Kids by Furniture Share, and show off those creative TuTus. If you have never participated in a 5K walk/run before, don't fret. You can run, walk, skip, show off some ballet moves, bring your favorite four-legged run/walk buddy....whatever! Dress up in YOUR TuTu (be prepared pictures will be taken). Enjoy a nice cup of hot chocolate before lining up at the starting line. Rules: Have a great time and wear that TuTu!! 

 This Timed Race begins at 9:00 a.m. @ Crystal Lake Park in Corvallis, OR. This easy, paved, course with no hills make this the perfect event for people of all ages and skills. Early registration closes January 5th, but if you register by February 4th you'll be gifted a 2019 Run T-Shirt!
