Event Description
The Imposter Syndrome: Uprooting Hidden Obstacles to Success

If you experience chronic self-doubt about being less smart, talented, experienced and knowledgeable than others, you may be unconsciously sabotaging your career. Up to 70% of us experience feeling that we are posing as successful, competent individuals - even though plenty of evidence exists to prove the opposite is true.

Ultimately the problem is not whether you occasionally (or regularly) fear failing, it’s whether your concerns with being found out, prevent you from taking actions important to achieving your highest aspirations.

An article "The Imposter Phenomenon in High Achieving Women" written by researchers Patricia Rose Clance, Ph.D. and Suzanne Imes in 1978, described this mindset and its implications on career success. Over time the term "Imposter Phenomenon" morphed into being referred to as the "Imposter Syndrome", acknowledging that in chronic cases it can become a mental health issue.

This presentation includes authorized distribution of the "Imposter Phenomenon" characteristics' Scale created by Clance and Imes. Individual scoring and debriefing of Scale results, sheds new light on how this Syndrome may be creating obstacles to your individual success.
